Coloring for a Cause: 2016 Holiday Gift Guide
I am a big believer in giving to worthy causes. And during the holidays, I try to eke some giving into the presents I give, if I can.
This season, consider buying a coloring gift that does double-duty: a gift for your recipient (or yourself!), and some help for a worthy cause.
The line drawings in this coloring book are based on the works of art created in Ferguson, Missouri in 2015, and include messages of peace, love, and community. The images are a variety of easy to more difficult, and are one-sided on high quality paper. This coloring book is based on the Nationally Recognized Award-Winning Children’s Book Painting for Peace. Full review & giveaway coming soon!
Profits from Painting for Peace are donated to youth, education and small businesses in Ferguson, Missouri and the surrounding communities
Not long before his first adult coloring book, Gnomes, was published, illustrator Daniel Savage was diagnosed with cancer. He can’t work anymore because of the advanced nature of his illness, and is currently uninsured. A group of 32 artists familiar with his situation – including his young daughter, Katie – got together and produced this thoughtful adult coloring book. The 35 images are printed single-sided on a nice-weight 60-pound paper and are a wonderful variety of designs: realistic, portraits, geometrics, etc. They range from very easy to quite difficult, so there is something for everyone.
All proceeds from this book will go to Daniel’s family to help offset some of the costs of his healthcare.
This coloring book is designed by college students and features coloring pages representing all seven continents and more than twenty countries. The book is 8.5″ x 5.5″ and made specifically to fit easily in a purse or book bag. The 12 colored pencils included in the package are made from recycled newspaper!
Every purchase provides a day of school for one of dot’s sponsored children.
Available at dot – Do One Thing for $35.00.
If you have a music lover in your life, this is the perfect gift. The coloring book offers an interactive and colorful journey of creativity, artistic expression, music, and charity. Illustrator Andy J. Miller collaborated with Yellow Bird Project to produce this unique expression of art and music. Wiggle yourself through the intricate Broken Social Scene maze, marvel in the colorful carnival of Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, color Bon Iver’s enchanted water supply, or slide down the psychedelic playground of MGMT. With over 25 hand-illustrated designs dedicated to indie and Yellow Bird Project musicians, including Iron & Wine, Bloc Party, The National and Devendra Banhart, this book is a sure fire pleaser.
Every purchase supports Trekstock, a charity that gives young adults living with cancer the emotional and practical support they need during and after treatment.
Shaded with Love
All proceeds will benefit FREE2LUV, an anti-bullying non-profit.
