It has been ten years since the last Star Wars installment, so hard-core fans are already lining up to get the first tickets for midnight showings. There are also two new groups of folks getting ready. The first is like me: people who never really “got it” the first time around. The second group is made up of the grandkids of people who were in their late teens and early twenties when the first Star Wars movie hit the screens in 1977.
A confession: I am a wanna-be-geek. I love math and science, and in my career as a finance executive I used and explained numbers every day. I’ve seen every episode of The Big Bang Theory at least twice. Godel, Escher, and Bach is one of my favorite books of all time. I find it fascinating that math is the foundation of much of the beauty in nature, such as snowflakes and the spirals of seeds in sunflowers.
Along with the explosion in popularity in adult coloring, I am seeing an explosion in online giveaways related to adult coloring, including coloring book giveaways. If you are not familiar with giveaways, they are actually quite simple to enter and are usually a way for a company to promote their product or service.
Following are 21 giveaways that I pulled together just this morning. Each listing has: a link to the giveaway; information on what is being given away (disclosure: some of these include affiliate links – I may make a few cents to support this website if you actually buy something after you click on them); the last day for entries; and who is eligible to enter – some are limited to various geographies.

Most of the adult coloring books I’ve seen at Adult Coloring 101 are drawn by one artist and are often single-themed such as mandalas, animals, abstracts, flowers, creatures, etc. And as much as I love them, sometimes I yearn for something a bit “different” from the often whimsy.
That is why a coloring book published earlier this month intrigued me.
It is October! The kids are back in school, the sweaters are out from storage, and the Christmas displays are up at stores just in time for Halloween. And of course, grown-up minds turn to hot, new coloring books!
My unscientific count of new publications debuting online and in retailers in October is almost 200. There are some great new coloring books for new and experienced colorists, as well as some books that may get the non-coloring people in your life into the pastime. And popular franchises such as Outlander, Breaking Bad and even Candy Crush are entering the fray. Continue reading “Coloring Book Releases – October 2015”
LOS ANGELES, CA, September 23, 2015 /24-7PressRelease/ — As adult coloring books continue to dominate the Amazon bestsellers list and the iTunes app store, a new coloring book taking off on Kickstarter signals an update in this hot trend heading into the holiday shopping season.
When I made my first baby step into adult coloring, the few I had heard the most about were sold out online. So, I headed to my closest book store (remember bookstores???) to touch and feel what everyone was so hyped about.
I didn’t want to spend my hard-earned cash unnecessarily.
Unfortunately, the store’s display with its small selection of adult coloring books was very picked over – the only ones left were over $20; As a rank beginner I wasn’t ready to make that investment. My husband and I headed out of the store, and as we passed the magazine stand and lo and behold, we saw a few nice-looking coloring magazines at a more reasonable price. I picked up
