Many consider coloring to be a form of therapy, although not quite as regimented as the art therapy that professional therapists use. Coloring can make you feel better in many ways by allowing you time to switch off the noise of the world around you and focus on your creativity while relaxing.
It is not just the holiday season: life in general can be stressful, and it can wreak havoc on our minds as well as our everyday responsibilities.
Aromatherapy, which involves the use of essential oils as a complementary health approach, has grown in popularity as a way to de-stress, just like coloring. Some studies have shown that aromatherapy might have health benefits, such as:
Relief from anxiety and depression
Improved quality of life, particularly for people with chronic health conditions
We’ve all done it: you get in the car to drive somewhere and all of a sudden you’re at the destination with no memory of the trip. Or you’re reading a book and find you have to turn back a few pages to go over the text again because you can’t remember what you read.
In both of these situations, your thoughts are probably so tangled up in other things in your life that you’ve gone on auto-pilot.
