On August 9, 2014, in Ferguson, Missouri, white police officer Darren Wilson fatally shot Michael Brown.

When a jury in November announced its decision not to indict officer Darren Wilson for the killing, some protests gave way to vandalism, leaving local businessesā€™ windows shattered. Members of the St. Louis art community came together, eager to help however they could. And they began to paint.
