One of the things that held me back from achieving more early in my career in corporate finance was my fear of failure – a result of my lack of self-confidence and self-esteem.
Psychologists say that you can start to build your self-confidence by simply telling yourself “I can.” The more you believe you can do something, the more you will be able to do it. That certainly helped me and I eventually worked my way to executive finance positions in the electricity and health care industries.
